UNVEILS NEW ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE VIDEO FOR INTOXICATING SINGLE
“SMOKE FILLED ROOM”
ORIGINAL TRACK WITH OVER 11 MILLION STREAMS AND
REACHES #1 ON DANCE RADIO CHART
![]() Electronic production duo MAKO is known for releasing cinematic and emotive dance music with an emphasis on insightful songwriting. Their latest single, the intoxicating “Smoke Filled Room,” is no exception–and today (3/3) with the release of a new acoustic performance video for “Smoke Filled Room” the veteran DJ meets Juilliard graduate duo further asserts their distinctiveness.
Shot by director/cinematographer Josh Lehnerd (Justin Beiber, Tiesto, Zeds Dead), the video features guest musicians Tyler Demorist (guitarist) and Jake Reed (percussionist). Meanwhile, the official music video for “Smoke Filled Room” was released recently; check it out here.
“This acoustic session was a great experience, another avenue for us to share our music,” MAKO shares. “We’ve been so grateful for the success of ‘Smoke Filled Room’ that we were hoping to pull back the curtain a little on what our songs typically sound like before they find production. I think the heart of our music tends to lie in the songwriting, and our fans are always pretty vocal about hearing these different adaptations of each release. We were excited to give it a shot; you can expect more like this ahead.”
“Smoke Filled Room” has received over 11 million plays on Soundcloud, Spotify and YouTube and already hit #1 on the Mediabase Dance chart and continues to gain momentum at radio with increasing spins on both SiriusXM’s BPM (dance) and Venus (pop), as well as iHeart Radio’s Evolution channels.
It was co-produced by rising New York City producer Prince Fox and mixed by Grammy Award-winning engineer Miles Walker (Rihanna, Kygo, Deorro) and once again showcases the duo’s unique ability to merge their emotive and inspiring songwriting talents with state of the art production. MAKO’s Alex Seaver assumes lead vocal duties.
2015 was a milestone year for MAKO. Beyond several high-profile festival appearances–including Lollapalooza, EDC Las Vegas, Tomorroworld, Electric Forest, Electric Zoo: Transformed, Global Dance Festival, Sunset Music Festival, Something Wonderful, and Miami Music Week–the pair also embarked on their own headlining club tour and released back-to-back collaboration tracks that garnered serious looks with “I Won’t Let You Walk Away,” featuring vocals from Madison Beer, and “Children Of The Wild,” MAKO’s collaboration with Steve Angello. Look for MAKO‘s debut album out later this year.

In an era where unexpected ingredients thrive, MAKO (Logan Light and Alex Seaver) offers a truly unique experience. Before an introduction was made, the two budding artists spent their early life progressing musically in radically different worlds. Alex attended The Juilliard School on full scholarship as musician and played with some of the world’s elite classical artists in the most storied of venues. Meanwhile, Logan was quietly mastering the art of DJing and within only a few years, began opening for some of dance music’s biggest international acts, including Tiesto and Avicii, and major appearances including Lollapalooza. The duo’s first release “Beam” quickly circulated on blogs and YouTube, logging more than 5.7 million views to date. The track was featured on SiriusXM’s Beta Test Tuesday which then prompted them to proclaim MAKO is “the next big thing.” Since then, MAKO has found themselves in studio with some of dance music’s top artists: Avicii, Steve Angello, Sander Van Doorn, R3hab, DubVision, Heather Bright, Le Castle Vania and many others.
