MATCHBOX TWENTY

IN THREE COUNTRIES–AMERICA, CANADA & AUSTRALIA–
WITH THEIR FIRST-EVER IN-CONCERT DVD,
‘SHOW: A NIGHT IN THE LIFE OF MATCHBOX TWENTY’;
DVD WINS TWO TELLY AWARDS UPON ITS RELEASE
Multi-platinum rock band MATCHBOX TWENTY entered at the top of the DVD charts in three countries–America, Canada and Australia–with the release of their first-ever in-concert DVD SHOW: A NIGHT IN THE LIFE OF MATCHBOX TWENTY. The DVD is also expected to top the charts around the globe upon its June 21 worldwide release.
Released May 25 via Rounder/Zoë Vision and produced by Coming Home Studios, the two-DVD set comprises a behind-the-scenes documentary and a 100-minute concert special filmed at Atlanta’s Philips Arena including the band’s #1 hits “Push,” “If You’re Gone” and “Bent,” plus “Disease” and “Unwell,” both from the group’s current double platinum album, MORE THAN YOU THINK YOU ARE. The concert was recorded in high definition video and in SRS Circle Surround 5.1, which marks the first time an artist has used this technology on a live concert DVD. *
In addition to the #1 debut, the DVD won two awards at the 25th annual Telly Awards, which acknowledge cable and non-network productions. SHOW took home honors for “Best TV or Cable Program/Live Event” and “Best TV or Cable Program/Music Video.”
To celebrate the DVD’s release, matchbox twenty gathered for a special screening and party for friends, family and lucky contest winners at the Avalon Hollywood. More than 1,000 people were on hand to help the band celebrate the release, while fans across the country viewed the DVD via a One Night Only™ coast-to-coast cinematic premiere at 40 Regal Entertainment Group (“REG” NYSE: RGC) theatres.

* Circle Surround from audio pioneer SRS Labs is a new patented surround format that allows a 5.1 surround sound mix to be stored over a two-channel format, such as the stereo track on a DVD or a traditional audio CD. It allows the 5.1 mix that was originally created by the band and the credited engineer, Jimbo Barton, to be stored on the stereo track of the DVD thus spacing save; and then able to be decoded into surround for those listeners with the latest home theater system. The power of Circle Surround is that it is compatible with all playback systems, including mono, stereo or other surround formats, making the one Circle Surround encoded soundtrack on this DVD able to satisfy all listeners and giving them the best possible audio experience.
