MP3.COM, Inc. is pioneering a revolutionary approach to the promotion and distribution of music. The company’s website has grown into a premier online music destination. The company uses the Internet and file formats that make music files smaller to enable a growing number of artists to broadly distribute and promote their music and to enable consumers to conveniently access this expanding music catalogue. www.mp3.com contains over 100,000 songs from over 18,000 artists, representing what the company believes to be one of the largest collections of digital music available on the Internet. Consumers can search, sample and download music free of charge.
Information on the rotating opening acts (one per show), as well as the current tour dates, are as follows:
GRETA GAINES: The first Women’s Extreme Snowboard Champion (Valdez, Alaska, 1992), Greta Gaines now channels her extreme energy into a more mellow songwriting craft, delivered with a passionate vocal style. Performs 8/18-8/24.
CHLOROPHYLL: Taking cues from both modern rock and traditional folk styles, Chlorophyll are branding themselves as “an accessible cross between Radiohead and Jeff Buckley”–and they easily live up that comparison. Performs 8/25-8/31.
RAY LANE: British native Ray Lane is a consummate storyteller, utilizing the platform of straight-ahead guitar-driven rock to spin tales of life, love, loss and redemption without sacrificing an upbeat musical edge. Performs 9/1-9/8.
LOTUSLAND: Comprised of members of former TAG/Atlantic act Ugly Beauty, Lotusland combines Christy Schnabel’s haunting vocals with a dark musical element to create a unique brand of eerie alterna-pop. Performs 9/10-9/16.
SCI-FI LULLABY: Under the name Ultrahorse, Sci-Fi Lullaby recorded a critically acclaimed album for 911 Entertainment that showcased its penchant for writing catchy alternative rock and synth hybrids with pop sensibilities. Performs 9/19-9/26.
