Phoenix, AZ. – When you have a film crew from FUSE TV coming to cover the event, The Warped Roadie gang bowling together and plenty of cocktails and great people getting together for a rare night off from the Vans Warped Tour, you KNOW it’s going to be an amazing time for a great cause! This past week in Phoenix was the scene of the 6th Annual Vans Warped Tour Charity Bowling Tournament where nineteen bands from the tour along with their fans and sponsors competed for the heavily coveted 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies. This year, Hawthorne Heights walked away with the prestigious first place trophy while Silverstein and blessthefall were close behind for second and third place respectively. Vans Warped Tour founder, Kevin Lyman welcomed the crowd and dedicated this year’s event to the memory of Lou Cotton’s from We Came As Romans, mother who recently passed away from cancer. Over 400 people packed Brunswick Tri-City Bowl and stayed to the final frame to see who came out victorious.
In addition to the tournament, fans via eBay were able to bid for a chance to bowl on the same team as their favorite band plus a limited number of spectators who made additional donations to the event were able to hang, mingle and cheer on their favorite team for the night. Monster Energy and Vans donated promotional product to the evening’s attendees. The event was hosted by local radio station and media sponsor KUKQ and their on-air host, Craven. All attendees received a limited edition hologram event pass courtesy of i6 Tix and all bowlers received a one-of-a-kind custom designed shirt donated by Glamour Kills. Since its inception, this event has raised over $60,000 toward cancer research for the T.J. Martell Foundation.
