!MPOSTER AND THE VECTOR WARRIOR–
IN ANTICIPATION OF HER FIRST ALBUM ‘URBAN ANGEL’ DUE OUT
AUGUST 22
This summer, NATALIE WALKER unveils “No One Else,” the first single from her debut album URBAN ANGEL (Dorado Records) with stunning remixes from The Amalgamation Of Soundz, 10Sui, !mposter, and The Vector Warrior. Available now digitally through iTunes and July 10 with a 12” and full commercial digital release, the song is the first offering in anticipation for the release of her full-length due out August 22.
Already, international tastemakers Gilles Peterson (Radio One Worldwide), Sat Bisla (A&R Worldwide Passport Approved) and Jason Bentley (KCRW) have been supporting the “No One Else” remixes on their globally syndicated radio shows. Nic Harcourt of KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic” has been playing the original version of the song as well.
URBAN ANGEL is the beautiful and haunting debut album from the 23-year-old, Philadelphia-based vocalist and songwriter. Recorded in Brooklyn and produced by Stuhr (Mya, Bebel Gilberto), it’s a mix of folk, soul and electronica. Natalie’s songs are infectious, honest, heartfelt–and her vocal tone is unique. With musical influences ranging from Alison Krauss to Portishead, Jewel to Lauryn Hill, Beth Orton to Bjork, she delivers a sonic landscape that is at once organic, ethereal and absorbing. A second single–“Quicksand,” with a remix by The Thievery Corporation–will follow “No One Else.”
Natalie is not new to many fans of downtempo electronic music. She formed Daughter Darling in 2000 with hip-hop producers Travis and Stephen Fogelman, and they self-released the album Sweet Shadows in 2003, selling 15,000 copies via the recommendation engines on CDBaby, iTunes and Amazon.
