BONUS AUDIO DISC INCLUDES SPECIAL ‘UMixIt’ SOFTWARE;
FILM WILL PREMIERE IN OVER 60 THEATRES NATIONWIDE
For more than 30 years, AEROSMITH has defined American Rock 'n' Roll. With over 100 million albums sold, countless awards (Grammys, American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards and MTV Awards) and a diehard fan-base numbering in the millions worldwide, Aerosmith are now set to release their first-ever concert DVD “You Gotta Move.” Capturing Aerosmith at their live concert finest, it was filmed during the band’s critically acclaimed tour supporting their 25th album, Honkin’ On Bobo, which David Fricke gave a four-star review in Rolling Stone. The DVD will hit stores Tuesday, November 23 on Columbia Music Video and will premiere that day in more than 60 RegalCinemas nationwide.
This groundbreaking DVD contains over two hours of music and interviews from America’s Greatest Rock ‘n Roll Band and includes an inside look at the making of Honkin' On Bobo. The members of Aerosmith–STEVEN TYLER, JOE PERRY, BRAD WHITFORD, TOM HAMILTON and JOEY KRAMER–remain creatively vital, and are the platinum standard for artistic and commercial success in the music world.
The live music on “You Gotta Move” was produced by STEVEN TYLER and Marti Frederiksen and the 5.1 Surround Sound was produced by TYLER, Thom Cadley and Frederiksen. The DVD package also includes a seven track bonus audio CD. Its final selection (“You Gotta Move”) features UMixIt™, a groundbreaking, interactive (non-downloadable) music technology for your PC. This marks the first time a major artist has used this technology. UMixIt allows fans to take “You Gotta Move” (in 8 or 16-track versions) and manipulate, mix and re-mix the original instrumental and vocal tracks. TYLER says, “You never know what slips through or is hidden between the tracks.” He adds, “We left some tracks open for you to play whatever you want on our song.”
This DVD features all the Aerosmith smash hits like “Sweet Emotion,” “Dream On,” “Walk This Way” and “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing,” plus never-before-seen performance footage of five additional songs–“Fever,” “Livin’ On The Edge,” “Same Old Song And Dance,” “Last Child” and “Rats In The Cellar”–that weren’t aired when the concert film debuted as a two-hour A&E special. There’s also behind-the scenes in-the-studio footage, raw and uncensored, of the making of Honkin' On Bobo.
The Honkin’ On Bobo tour drew over two million fans and massive critical acclaim. In one particularly noteworthy review, Ed Masley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette said (6/21/04), “Joe Perry was a force of nature, squeezing out a never-ending string of awe-inspiring leads and throwing himself into his performance…And Tyler? The man is still amazing, shimmying and swaggering through all those classic Steven Tyler moves with a grace most rockers half his age would die for. Water only wishes it could be that fluid.”
Of the national “You Gotta Move” big screen debut set for November 23rd, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry are excited to see this event come to fruition.
Tyler says, “I just spent four weeks in Pandora’s Box mixing this puppy into a sweet 5.1 lather, and tonight, for one night only, you’re gonna hear, see and feel 30 years of clubs, arenas, juke joints and jams rolled into two hours of sweet concert insanity!”
Joe Perry says, “In a 30-year career that has more incredible experiences than I could have imagined, to see Aerosmith like this on the big screen is right up there with the best of them. You have to remember that we never get to see ourselves play, but we always picture ourselves right there with our fans in the audience. So this is gonna be something that we won’t forget, and that’s saying something.”
