ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND
ON STAGE AT THE GREEK THEATER IN LOS ANGELES
The ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND–touring in connection with their critically acclaimed HITTIN’ THE NOTE album (Peach/Sanctuary)–were joined on stage last night (9/7) at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles with some very special guests. Chris Robinson and Marc Ford (a former Black Crowes guitarist) and Gov’t Mule drummer Matt Abts sat in with the group for a rousing rendition of B.B. King’s “Rock Me Baby.” Robinson, who’s guested onstage with the ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND in the past, was seen backstage with his wife Kate Hudson as well as mother-in-law Goldie Hawn and Oliver Hudson. Opening act Karl Denson performed with the group on their new song “Desdemona” (from HITTIN’ THE NOTE) while Neil Larson (from Gregg Allman’s solo band) joined him on keyboards for the group’s classic instrumental “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed.” The ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND’s in-progress tour heads to Santa Barbara, CA Tuesday (9/9).
