ROBOT KOCH FEATURING FASSINE
“SPINE” VIDEO DEBUTS
NEW ALBUM
‘HYPERMOMENT’
OUT NOW ON MONKEYTOWN RECORDS
Following his last video “Care,” German electronic musician and songwriter ROBOT KOCH has teamed again with freelance filmmaker and audio technology researcherMickael Le Goff for his new video for “Spine.” It made its debut via Self-Titled and now can be seen here: https://youtu.be/Budoo4jYBbE
“Spine,” which appears on ROBOT‘s album HYPERMOMENT (Monkeytown Records), features U.K. band Fassine. For the video states Le Goff, “The musically dark and broken atmosphere of ‘Spine’ has been translated into images with intriguing body language and glitchy transformations of a dancer. This alternates with a fluid and choreographic part following the music melody that has been visually enhanced with the use of sodium acetate crystals formation.”
“I made three times the amount of songs that are on HYPERMOMENT in the process of writing this album, but decided to go for these 11 songs in the end,” says KOCH. “They are a real album to me, a full body of work. Not a just collection of songs.”
Awash with swathes of warm, saturated, analog sounds, real-world field recordingand lush pianos and soundscapes, the album features field recordings captured along ROBOT‘s nomadic writing trips to New York, Berlin and the inspiring Joshua Tree in California, as well as his new home base of Silver Lake in Los Angeles, where he was constantly writing and re-writing the tracks to fit in with the basis and ethos of the album. Guests on the record include L.A.-based schwarzmodul, who was on his previous Tsuki EP, as well as Delhia de France from his recent “California Dreamin'” collaboration which was used on the trailer for Warner Bros’ summer blockbuster San Andreas (de France is also from the band the Pentatones, who ROBOT produced the album Ouroboros for in 2014). ROBOT has also brought on some of his favorite new emerging artists such as Mree from NYC (“Separated”) and California-based Stephen Henderson (“Dreams”).
Look for ROBOT KOCH to tour North America in 2016.
