"SHO' NUFF": THE BLACK CROWES' new album may not be out until September, but that's not stopping the guys from hitting the road soon. Throughout July, the band–CHRIS ROBINSON, vocals; RICH ROBINSON, vocals, guitars; STEVE GORMAN, drums; EDDIE HARSCH, keyboards; and the newest CROWE, bassist SVEN PIPIEN–will perform a special nationwide warm-up trek encompassing very intimate club dates and a few select radio shows (exact dates TBA). Calling the tour "SHO' NUFF," they'll be playing a mix of BLACK CROWES classics like "Jealous Again," "Twice As Hard," "She Talks To Angels," "Remedy" and "Hotel Illness," alongside such new songs as "By Your Side," "Horsehead" and "Kicking My Heart Around." The new songs–which the band are recording in a New York City studio with producer Kevin Shirley (Aerosmith's Nine Lives)–are said to leave behind the psychedelia in favor of the blues-based, hard-edged rock `n roll the band's known for. Meanwhile, on a break from working on the as-yet-untitled album, frontman CHRIS ROBINSON was spotted at a downtown party for the magazine Bikini looking "healthy" (noted one radio outlet), while another commented on his sharp-looking duds. What's he doing all dressed up? "Tell anyone who asks…I need to get laid," deadpans CHRIS, who recently split with his wife of two years. Sho' nuff…
