    SINGLE MUSIC–the new industry app for direct-to-consumer sales for artists, labels and merch companies–will sponsor the Nashville exhibit of KING’S MOUTH, an immersive audiovisual installation from The Flaming Lips‘ Wayne Coyne which will be held at The Gallery at Fort Houston this summer.

    “Music and visual art are not mutually exclusive,” says CEO Tommy Stalknecht of the Nashville based SINGLE MUSIC. “Many musicians are also extremely creative in other areas–videography, paint, immersive experiences, etc. These other creative avenues are enabling artists to connect with their fans in the physical world, not just through their phones. King’s Mouth is a fantastic example of the music & arts convergence that’s happening in our industry. Nashville is not just a country town and we wanted to help highlight the amazing culture of our city.”
     
    SINGLE MUSIC was created by entrepreneur and musician Tommy Stalknecht to provide an easy way for artists and labels to sell their merch and music directly to fans while keeping a larger portion of revenues.
     
    Aligned with Shopify, the new D2C paradigm offers instant reporting to Nielsen for official Billboard chart tallying while due to their white labeling process, allows the app to be completely behind-the-scenes from purchase to download so that artists can run their own presales, single campaigns or album bundle campaigns instantly, while maintaining complete access to their customer’s data.
     
    Over 500 artists are currently signed up for their service, including Lil Peep, Sheck Wes, Toro Y Moi, Chromeo and newcomers T-Pain, Aaron Lewis and Lil Pump. SINGLE MUSIC has also aligned themselves with many top merchandising companies such as Live Nation Merch, Futureshirts, The Hyv, Absolute Merch, Top Drawer Merch and many more.

    SINGLE MUSIC has confirmed over 104,000 digital albums purchased and 158,000 total sales reported to Soundscan including Gillian Welch‘s Oscar nominated single “When A Cowboy Trades His Spurs For Wings,” along with Billboard #1 albums from Thirty Seconds to Mars, Kacey Musgraves, Peter Hollens, For King & Country and John Prine.
