RETURN TO STUDIO FOR WORK ON FORTHCOMING CD;

PLANS FIRMED UP FOR ‘THE ROCK BOAT 05’

            With their fifth annual “The Rock Boat” set to launch in September, SISTER HAZEL have gone into the studio to lay the foundation for their next CD.  Expected in early 2006, the album follows 2004’s LIFT CD and will be the group’s sixth studio album.  The band also recently re-released their self-titled debut album, originally issued in 1994, which features their smash hit “All For You.”

            In other news, SISTER HAZEL–lead singer/acoustic guitarist KEN BLOCK, guitarist/singer ANDREW COPELAND, guitarist RYAN NEWELL, bassist JETT BERES and drummer MARK TROJANOWSKI–are gearing up for The Rock Boat ’05, where they’ll preview new material from the upcoming album.  The four-day cruise also includes O.A.R., Marc Broussard and Cowboy Mouth, among many others, and will visit Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.  SISTER HAZEL started The Rock Boat in 2001 as a big “thank you” party for their fans, and it has evolved into a major music destination for like-minded artists.  “I’m a writer, and I have a hard time putting into words how special it is for us,” says BLOCK.  “We’re nothing less than overwhelmed by the experience every time.”   

Between recording sessions in their Gainesville, FL hometown and the September 29-October 3 “Rock Boat” trip, the acoustic-driven and infectious SISTER HAZEL will be on the road, including a special performance 8/12 in Atlanta at Chastain Park with the renowned Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.  Between Atlanta and The Rock Boat, they’ll do 17 shows along the East Coast, followed by a few weeks of recording sessions.
