TO PERFORM ON QUEEN LATIFAH SHOW IN OCTOBER
SPLENDER fans can tune into the nationally syndicated Queen Latifah Show in October to see the group perform their hit single “I Think God Can Explain,” following on the heels of their Tonight Show appearance. The single–a potent blend of impassioned vocals and ringing guitars–is the follow up to “Yeah, Whatever,” off their C2/Columbia Records debut HALFWAY DOWN THE SKY CD. Meanwhile, the video for “I Think God Can Explain”–directed by Chris Applebaum (Lit, Seminsonic)–remains in rotation on VH1.
Longtime supporters of SPLENDER were recently treated to a special fan appreciation live Internet chat last Wednesday (September 20). The band hosted the chat to express their appreciation for the continued support of HALFWAY DOWN THE SKY and their tour dates this summer.
Having just finished treks with artists including Third Eye Blind, Vertical Horizon, Stroke 9 and SR-71, SPLENDER—WAYMON BOONE (lead vocals, guitar), JONATHAN SVEC (lead guitar), JAMES CRUZ (bass) and MARC SLUTSKY(drums)-earned a reputation as a hard-hitting live band with great melodic pop/rock sensibilities over brooding and intense lyrics. “I think our chemistry as a band is one word to me…electric,” says WAYMON. “When the four of us played together for the very first time, it was immediate and undeniable, as though we’d been playing for years.”
