STAIND HEAD OUT ON THE ROAD FOLLOWING
RELEASE OF ‘14 SHADES OF GREY’
WITH HEADLINING AND RADIO SHOW PERFORMANCES;
BAND’S MAY 17 NEW YORK CITY PERFORMANCE
BROADCAST LIVE EXCLUSIVELY ON AOL® FOR BROADBAND’S
SPECIAL EDITION OF BROADBAND ROCKS ™
STAIND fans across North America will have the chance to see the band live this summer when they head out on a series of dates following the May 20 release of their new album 14 SHADES OF GREY (Flip/Elektra). These performances follow STAIND’s free concerts in four cities (Boston, New York, Los Angeles and Chicago) and a whirlwind of promotional activities leading up release of the album.
But STAIND fans around the world will be able to see the band live even before they come to their city. The multi-platinum group’s May 17 show at the Manhattan Centre will air live on a special edition of BroadBAND Rocks™, broadcast exclusively on AOL for Broadband at AOL Keyword: Staind. AOL members will be able to watch the band perform hits from their certified platinum albums alongside material from 14 Shades of Grey. Additionally, fans can check out other special features on AOL Music, as Staind is AOL’s May “Artist of the Month.”
With chart-topping international success, multi-platinum album sales and critical accolades, STAIND–singer AARON LEWIS, guitarist MIKE MUSHOK, bassist JOHNNY APRIL and drummer JON WYSOCKI–are leaving an indelible mark on the contemporary music scene. 14 SHADES OF GREY’s first single “Price To Play” debuted in the Top Ten at three radio formats (Alternative Rock 10*, Active Rock 6* and Mainstream Rock 8*). The band’s last album, the quadruple platinum BREAK THE CYCLE, became a certified global smash, fueled by the moody, introspective singles “It’s Been Awhile,” “Fade,” “For You” and “Epiphany.” Writing in the Los Angeles Times (6/30/01), Robert Hilburn praised the band’s “dark, pulverizing music,” further noting “Staind’s Aaron Lewis writes with a human, convincing edge.” STAIND’s intensity was also displayed on their 2002 gold-certified DVD MTV Unplugged.
