STAIND
KICK OFF THREE-MONTH NORTH AMERICAN “OPEN YOUR EYES” HEADLINING TOUR MAY 8
WITH COLD AND PUDDLE OF MUDD;
MTV TO PRESENT TOUR
Flip/Elektra artist STAIND will kick off a three-month headlining “Open Your Eyes” tour May 8 in support of their forthcoming CD BREAK THE CYCLE, due out May 22. STAIND will be joined by their friends and Flip/Geffen labelmates Cold as well as Puddle Of Mudd (the first signing to Fred Durst’s Flawless Records through Geffen) on this trek, which will be presented by MTV. Cold are touring in support of their new album 13 Ways To Bleed Onstage. Their current single “No One” is being played at over 200 radio stations and is Top 15 at Modern Rock and Top 10 at Mainstream Rock. The Durst-directed video for the song is also a “Buzzworthy” clip at MTV. Puddle Of Mud will release their first single in June, with a video directed by Durst to follow.
vvv Meanwhile, for the past three weeks STAIND have held the distinction of simultaneously having the #1 song across all three rock formats with “It’s Been Awhile,” the first single off BREAK THE CYCLE. The track is currently at the top of the Alternative, Mainstream and Active Rock charts according to Billboard Monitor.
The video for “It’s Been Awhile”–directed by Durst–is a “Buzzworthy” clip at MTV. STAIND were also chosen as one of the first artists to participate in the major “MTV 360” launch with consecutive world premieres on MTV.com, MTV2 and MTV. The video has been added to VH1 as well.
Produced by Josh Abraham and mixed by Andy Wallace, Break The Cycle marks STAIND‘s third album and follows the platinum CD Dysfunction which featured the hit singles “Just Go,” “Mudshovel” and “Home.” Break The Cycle builds onSTAIND‘s potent blend of introspection and explosive power, as the cathartic “It’s Been Awhile” illustrates.
