STONE SOUR
HITS THE TOP OF THE CHARTS
“THROUGH GLASS” SOARS TO #1
ON THE MAINSTREAM AND ACTIVE ROCK CHARTS
AND IS OFFICIALLY ADDED TO MTV2
New York, NY – Stone Sour’s hit single “Through Glass” recently took the #1 spot on the Mainstream and Active Rock Charts, marking the first #1 single in the band's career. The song bests the #4 charting position the band reached with “Bother,” from their Gold-selling, self-titled debut album. "Through Glass” is currently #7 on the Modern Rock Chart, while the video was officially added to MTV2. The track is the first single off the band’s latest album, Come What(ever) May, which debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart when it was released on August 1st. Proclaimed by Blender Magazine as an album that “makes anger and angst seem almost fun,” Come What(ever) May moved 80,786 units its first week out, triple what their debut album scanned its first week. The album has sold over 191,000 units to date. The band is currently on the Family Values Tour with Korn, The Deftones, Flyleaf and others. This winter they will embark on the Music As A Weapon Tour with Disturbed.
Stone Sour is well on its way to the forefront of rock music. “In a better America, Stone Sour would be the face of American Rock,” says Alternative Press Magazine. Thanks to this flurry of activity – radio, video, press and touring – Stone Sour is several steps closer to fulfilling such a prophecy. Lead vocalist, Corey Taylor is one of the most recognized figures in rock, thanks to his dual role as the frontman for Stone Sour and the Grammy-Winning, Slipknot, a multi-platinum act in its own right. The band is also comprised of guitarist James Root, who does double duty in Slipknot, bassist Shawn Economaki, guitarist Josh Rand and new drummer Roy Mayorga.
“Either way you slice it, [Come What(ever) May] is an intense, taut piece of work where every song could be a single,” says Billboard. The album, produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver), is an exercise in dynamics. It's tight, crisp, and full of rowdy rockers and melodic numbers.
