THE BLACK CROWES
ANNOUNCE EUROPEAN TOUR DATES
WITH RETURN TO U.S. SET FOR LATE AUGUST;
NEWLY RELEASED RADIO TRACK IS 'SOUL SINGING,' WITH VIDEO ON THE WAY
THE BLACK CROWES, fresh from a triumphant co-headlining U.S. tour with Oasis, are set to head off to Europe and Japan for an array of festival shows and headlining gigs. Kicking off Friday (6/22) in Switzerland, the 28 concerts in 12 countries include eight shows with Neil Young, two with AC/DC and another pair with Stereophonics. The multi-act shows will include such artists as Wyclef Jean, Deftones, Beck and Ben Harper, among others. After the European festivals, THE BLACK CROWES will perform six headlining gigs in Japan (7/25 through 7/31), after which they'll return to the U.S. for an extensive headlining trek that will run from late August through the end of October.
THE BLACK CROWES–singer CHRIS ROBINSON, guitarist RICH ROBINSON, drummer STEVE GORMAN, keyboardist EDDIE HARSCH, guitarist AUDLEY FREED and new bassist ANDY HESS–are touring in support of their new Don Was-produced album LIONS (V2 Records), which features the Top 10 rock radio track "Lickin'" and the newly released "Soul Singing." The video for this joyous, redemptive song is now in the editing stages.
THE BLACK CROWES' LIONS album is their first since the release of their on-stage collaboration with Jimmy Page LIVE AT THE GREEK and their first on V2. "People ask us what kind of music we play…Now we say we play Black Crowes music," says RICH. "To get even more general than that, it's soul music-which doesn't necessarily mean it's R&B, it's just music from and for the soul." CHRIS recently told Guitar World, "I think this new album really sums up the last 10 years of where we've been, musically. And it really gives us a starting point for where we wanna go."
