ROAD WORK: In addition to the previously announced sold-out shows October 12, 13 & 14 at Roseland in New York City and October 18 & 19 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, THE BLACK CROWES and JIMMY PAGE have added another "Rock N' Roll Evening" to their itinerary: October 16 at the Centrum in Worcester, MA. 8,000 tickets for this show were sold in one day alone. The concerts will feature both artists performing onstage together the best of Led Zeppelin and THE BLACK CROWES as well as an assortment of their favorite rhythm and blues songs. What can fans expect to hear at the shows? As THE BLACK CROWES' lead singer, CHRIS ROBINSON, recently told Allstar: "It's going to be heavier on the Zeppelin side, a few selected BLACK CROWES numbers and then cover tunes. That's the thing, when you have RICH (ROBINSON), Jimmy (Page) and AUDLEY (FREED), it's like `Let `em go!' So I think playing blues and some R&B numbers is part of it too and letting the guitar players do their thing. As the lead singer, I'll let them do that." What about the inspiration for both artists to join forces in the first place? "There is no pressure, that's what's cool about it. Today's music business is so chock full of calculated things…We're just doing it for music's sake…Rock and roll for rock and roll's sake." In future CROWES news, look for the band to head back into the studio to start work on the follow-up to their critically acclaimed BY YOUR SIDE album early next year. The band have already written nine songs for the album, including "Bled To Death" and "Cypress Tree." According to ROBINSON in the Allstar interview, "As far as our new songs, we're already in another place again compared to the last one. It seems much darker and sort of heavy–maybe `cause we've been playing with Jimmy, I don't know. Heavy guitars? I wonder where that came from?" Stay tuned for more details in the coming months…
