The DEAD
To Perform At Senator Barack Obama Event Monday, October 13;
Band Asks Americans To Vote In November 4 Presidential Election
As the 2008 election draws closer, the DEAD–Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart–are imploring Americans to make sure they’re registered to vote, particularly with potential early voting opportunities that may exist in various states.
As previously announced, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees–founded as the Grateful Dead in 1965–will perform together for the first time in four years at a Barack Obama benefit show, taking place Monday, October 13 in State College, PA. The “Change Rocks” concert–which also features the Allman Brothers Band–will be held at Penn State University’s 15,000-capacity Bryce Jordan Center. “We’re honored to be a part of the ‘Change Rocks’ concert for Senator Barack Obama,” the group says, “and we hope everybody who is eligible to vote does so on November 4.”
More information on the concert can be found at www.barackobama.com/psu or www.dead.net. For information on voter registration deadlines, go to: http://www.rockthevote.com/electioncenter/.
