TRUTH & SALVAGE CO.
ANNOUNCE 2011 TOUR DATES
KICKING OFF JANUARY 26,
BAND TO RETURN TO STAGECOACH FESTIVAL MAY 1
2010 was a noteworthy year for TRUTH & SALVAGE CO.: “More Than 103,000 Miles…Crossed Mississippi River 21 Times…732 Hotel Rooms…and 312 shows,” to quote the words that appear onscreen at the outset of the band’s current video for their single “Pure Mountain Angel.” With an array of newly announced tour dates, 2011 is kicking off strongly for the critically hailed band that possesses–noted David Fricke in his June 2010 Rolling Stone review of their debut album on Silver Arrow/Megaforce Records–“everything you need for a classic-rock party: muscular treble guitar, Hammond organ and four singer-songwriters harmonizing…”
The 2011 trek kicks off January 26 with the band’s own headlining shows before they join forces February 1-9 with Jonathan Tyler & Northern Lights. From there, TRUTH & SALVAGE CO.–armed with a stirring blend of rock and Americana that’s been heard on Sirius XM Radio’s “Outlaw Country” station–will continue across the U.S. on a headlining run including stops in Chicago, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Denver, Seattle and Portland before wrapping with five shows in California. The finale of this leg of the tour will be Friday, March 18 at the Troubadour in West Hollywood (see full dates below).
After that, TRUTH & SALVAGE CO.—Scott Kinnebrew (vocals/guitars), Tim Jones (vocals/guitars), Bill “Smitty” Smith (vocals/drums), Walker Young (vocals, keys), Adam Grace (keys) and Frank DiVanna (bass)–are set for a return visit, on Sunday, May 1, to Southern California’s Stagecoach: California’s Country Music Festival, where they also performed in 2010.
A potent live act that’s toured with The Black Crowes and the Avett Brothers, TRUTH & SALVAGE CO. has earned accolades for their Chris Robinson-produced debut album (released in May 2010). The album features the band’s signature song “Pure Mountain Angel” which they performed for their national television debut on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”TRUTH & SALVAGE CO. were cited as a “Top 10 Band To Watch This Summer” by USA Today and Rolling Stone’s David Fricke said, “This sly California sextet draw on irresistible history (Buffalo Springfield, the Band) to spell out the modern trials of peace and love…Truth and Salvage Co. have what it takes for a long haul, in the country-R.E.M. breeze of ‘101’ and saloon glow of ‘She Really Does It For Me (6/24/10).”
The band’s uplifting live shows were hailed by these outlets:
Sacramento Press:
“Imagine you took southern rock, country, folk, blues, classic rock and New Orleans jazz and put them all into a mortar, and using Los Angeles as a pestle, made a musical guacamole…Powerful stuff….By the time the band finished up with, fittingly, the last track on its album, ‘Pure Mountain Angel,’ they had the fans who had come specifically to see them in a fervor (9/29/10).”
Denver Daily News:
“…harmonies and down home musicianship and sincerity…they’re always a fun listen and boast tight songwriting and musicianship (10/15/10).”
The Asheville Citizen Times:
“…infectious four-part harmonies and honest approach toward vintage mountain rock and timeless Americana song craft…The album reveals the band’s instinctive collaborative grace…soaring melodies (1/7/11).”
