TSUNAMI BOMB

AND EARN CRITICAL ACCLAIM FOR ‘THE DEFINITIVE ACT,’
FRONTWOMAN AGENT M. WILL APPEAR ON ‘COMPLETE CONTROL’ ON INDIE 103.1 IN LOS ANGELES THURSDAY NOVEMBER 4
BAND ANNOUNCES FALL TOUR WITH MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK
FIRST SINGLE ‘DAWN ON A FUNERAL DAY’
TO HIT RADIO IN MID-NOVEMBER
“For their sophomore effort, Tsunami Bomb delivers a classic Bay Area punk sound, all filtered through the voice of their sexy frontwoman Agent M. Much more versatile than their debut, they’ve revved up their sound for this release, pushing them into the league of other punk superstars.”
–Rebecca Swanner, STUFF MAGAZINE.COM, (October 2004)
TSUNAMI BOMB are breaking through with their recently released album THE DEFINITIVE ACT, marking the co-ed quartet’s first-ever debut on the Billboard Heatseekers chart (#44). The group–armed with their signature melodic punk rock anthems fused with razor sharp rhythms–will perform two West Coast headlining shows on November 24 and 26 before kicking-off a fall tour with Motion City Soundtrack. The month-long club swing beginning November 28 includes a return to the East Coast with shows at New York City’s Knitting Factory on December 8 and the Starland Ballroom in New Jersey on December 12.
TSUNAMI BOMB are primed to hit radio in November with the darkly emotive ‘Dawn On A Funeral Day,’ the first blast from THE DEFINITIVE ACT. On Thursday, November 4 the group’s charismatic frontwoman AGENT M. will appear on LA’s only all punk radio show “Complete Control” with renowned host Joe Sib on Los Angeles’ Indie 103.1 FM (show airs 9:00PM-11:00PM PST).
In other news, TSUNAMI BOMB just finished adding the commentary for their first solo concert DVD for the Kung Fu Records live DVD series “The Show Must Go Off.” Filmed during the band’s volcanic live show at the Glass House outside Los Angeles, the DVD will be released in early 2005.
Meanwhile, THE DEFINITIVE ACT–the band’s second full-length album for Kung Fu Records–received a four-out-of-five-star CD review in the new issue of ALTERNATIVE PRESS (December 2004). The magazine described the diverse album as “expansive pop-punk…and at least a dozen other stylistic turns.” Elsewhere, MEAN STREET praised the first track ‘Dawn on a Funeral Day’–the song is a metaphor for being buried alive emotionally and physically–by noting: “The new album, exemplified by tracks such as ‘Dawn on a Funeral Day,’ showcases a more varied sound and a more introspective band” (September 2004).
Check out what the critics are saying about THE DEFINITIVE ACT:
“With powerful songs and a kickass live show, Tsunami Bomb are poised to own the underground’s hearts.
–Waleed Rashidi, ALTERNATIVE PRESS, (October 2004)
“Simply put, this album is fantastic. You don’t hear punk rock records this good anymore. The Definitive Act is eerie in its lyrical foreshadowing.”
–Scott Heisel, PUNK NEWS.ORG (October 2004)
“Tsunami Bomb’s latest release The Definitive Act, is a fast-paced and dynamic album. The vocals are the high point, with Agent M.’s singing being simultaneously gruff and emotive. The start-and-stop time changes play off between the guitar, bass lines and the drumming to create a catchy, fragmented effect.
–Alex Frydman, ABSOLUTE PUNK.NET (October 12, 2004)
“…a wired amalgam of Bad Religion and Black Flag crossed with the edgy, eeriness of Alkaline Trio.”
–Daniel Lane, METAL HAMMER (U.K.), (October 2004)
“…Tsunami Bomb’s sound is based on that of the ubiquitous Cali-punk Descendents, the quartet delivers bouncy ska-punk, Blondie-ish new wave, thundering hardcore and Black Flag-inspired old-school punk. Agent M.’s powerful roar and scalding jets of verbiage hold it all together.”
–Chris Parker, HOUSTON PRESS (August 26, 2004)
“Tsunami Bomb sells its upbeat brand of punk with an onslaught of guitars and catchy riffs, Agent M.’s voice soaring above it all.”
–Andrea Noble, RIVERFRONT TIMES (St. Louis, MO), (July 28, 2004)
“…while…there’s no denying the pandemic appeal of Tsunami Bomb…seeing this band live is a rock and roll experience that you can’t afford to miss.“
–Jaysen Buterin, ESP (Greensboro, NC), (August 11-17 2004)
“The main portion of this album…[The Definitive Act] has…[a] galloping catchy pace in every song, as well as abundant breaks and in-betweens. Add to all this an amazing melodic, yet ballsy female voice that holds the middle between Tilt and the Dance Hall Crashers and you’ll have all the ingredients for the tight album this is.”
–Hein Terweduwe, PUNKUPDATES.COM, (September 2004)
“The Definitive Act is a great punk album.”
–Bobby Gorman, THE PUNK SITE.COM/PUNK UPDATES.COM , (October 12, 2004)
