ULTRA MUSIC SIGNS
DROP THE LIME
TO A WORLDWIDE DEAL
DEBUT ALBUM ‘ENTER THE NIGHT’ DUE OUT THIS FALL
FIRST SINGLE “HOT AS HELL” SET FOR

New York-based, award-winning electronic music imprint Ultra Music has announced it has signed a worldwide partnership deal with DROP THE LIME for the fall 2011 release of his full-length debut ENTER THE NIGHT. The album’s first single “Hot As Hell” will be made available for North America on June 14.
Aspects of the extensive deal include Ultra Music’s direct involvement in recording and touring, while also aiding wherever possible in Drop The Lime’s publishing, merchandising and sponsorship activities. The partnership will work to build and extend his sound and identity forward and around the world.
“Hot As Hell” was first released in the U.K. earlier this year to critical acclaim. Fifties rock' n 'roll and bass heavy club music aren't two genres you'd typically put together, but in the mind of Drop The Lime they're a perfect combination and had Mixmag hailing the music as "…a hellraising, rockabilly road trip…” Adds Culture Of Me, “…what he's done with the single, mixing in his voice and an only-for-the-dance-floor drumming beat is nothing short of amazing…Maybe all the chola girls and greaser guys will go back and pick up 7" records from the likes of The Collins Kids and Wanda Jackson to rip out their parts for more of the billy-bass tunes that may well all come from this. For now, though, we have ‘Hot As Hell,’ and you guys have a good time coming your way.”
Propelled by its 50’s style video featuring Drop The Lime and a bevy of gorgeous pin-up girls, the song is already receiving early support from U.S. tastemakers like KCRW in Los Angeles and the New York Post. Check out the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_KdLVgQkwE.
David Waxman, Ultra Records General Manager, commented on the deal, “Drop the Lime is one of those unique artists that any A&R would look forward to working with. There is huge creative potential in not only the music, but the live show as well. He's sampling an era of music and delivering it to a new generation of listeners whose parents weren't even born when it was originally created.”
