With the music festival season in full swing, the 12th annual VOODOO EXPERIENCE has announced a special “early bird” pre-sale for concert-goers looking to make plans well in advance for the annual Halloween weekend-long celebration of music and culture. With the line-up being finalized and set to be announced in the coming weeks, this year’s VOODOO EXPERIENCE will once again take place in New Orleans’ City Park, Friday, October 29, Saturday, October 30 and Sunday, October 31. Earlier this year, the critically acclaimed VOODOO EXPERIENCE was honored with the “Best Festival” award from New Orleans’ OFFBEAT MAGAZINE’s Best of the Beat Music Business Awards, marking a first for VOODOO, the youngest of the festivals in the region.
A limited number of three-day general admission tickets for $129 and weekend LOA (VIP) passes priced at $375 will be available exclusively starting today via the www.thevoodooexperience.com. This year’s VIP amenities include tax free tickets, reserved parking, exclusive access to the LOA front row, a raised viewing area, full bar services, exclusive performances, with additional services and luxuries to be announced.
Set in historic City Park, amidst lush lagoons, bayous and one of the largest collections of mature oak trees in the world–all in the shadow of the New Orleans Museum of Art and just minutes from the French Quarter and Central Business District–this festive New Orleans celebration is steeped in the city’s culture and influences. Throughout its consecutive 11-year run, the VOODOO EXPERIENCE has brought together a collection of talent that has bridged the social, economic and generational gaps by creating a unique event with a commitment to every genre of music while at the same time celebrating the sounds of the region.
Every year, the wide-ranging line-up of talent reflects the multitude of cultures that define this historic and beloved American city. Since its 1999 debut, more than 1,200 performers–ranging from Rage Against the Machine, Eminem, KISS, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M., Green Day, Tiesto, Nine Inch Nails, Tool to a variety of New Orleans’ artists including Dr. John, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, The Original Funky Meters and Irma Thomas–have come to New Orleans to worship the music at the annual event.
