TO ‘RISE’ ON CBS-TV’S ‘EARLY SHOW’ WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 17
AS FIRST SINGLE BEGINS TO IMPACT RADIO;
LATER THAT NIGHT, DAILEY TO PERFORM SONG ON
‘CSI: NY’
Look for WILL DAILEY to make his nationally televised debut live appearance Wednesday, October 17 on CBS’ Early Show when he’ll perform “Rise,” the lead single from his newly released album Back Flipping Forward. Later that night, the Boston singer, songwriter and guitarist–noted for his striking vocal phrasings–will appear on CSI: NY, performing “Rise” with the show’s star Gary Sinise sitting in on bass. The song will also be heard in promos for CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION throughout the week of October 11.
“Rise” is in rotation on radio stations nationwide, including AAA and college formats. With such candid lyrics as “When I grow up/I hope I get the hang of this/I bleed from 6 strings/I let the truth fall from my lips,” “Rise” is a tender and bold song about romantic affirmation. An acoustic studio version of the song is available here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=4wnfkx92yxA.
DAILEY’s music–which earned him the 2006 Boston Music Award for “Best Male Singer/Songwriter”–has also received other television exposure: Specifically for the new primetime TV show “Kid Nation,” Will recorded his version of Tears For Fears’ “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”; the song is available on iTunes as a bonus track when Back Flipping Forward is purchased there. Two other songs from the album (“Grand Opening,” “Hollywood Hills”) were heard on MTV’s hugely popular reality show “The Hills." In addition, the album's “Undone" was heard on NCIS October 9.
The songs on BACK FLIPPING FORWARD, DAILEY's CBS Records debut released October 2, were inspired by the people he encountered and the places he stumbled upon while playing countless shows on a series of rambling cross-country tours. Tracks such as the lovely melodic opener “Boom Boom,” the infectious pop-rocker “Bi Polar Baby,” the anthemic “Rise” and the gorgeous Appalachian folk closer, “Dear Grace,” a number usually done a cappella during DAILEY’s live shows, reflect his eclectic influences, from Tom Waits to early Rod Stewart.
